Arriving By Air
Commercial flights are available to Thunder Bay on Porter Airlines, Air Canada and West Jet. Once in Thunder Bay, all major car rental agencies are located at the airport.
Arriving By Private Aircraft
Armstrong Station has a large airfield suitable for most private and charter aircraft.

What You Should Bring:
- Sleeping Bag
- Pillow
- Soap & Towel
- Landing Net
- Rain suit
- Camera, film & batteries
- Groceries (including salt & pepper, cooking oil, paper towel, toilet paper and dish soap)
- Fishing rods & reels
- Well equipped tackle box
- Life jackets (mandatory)
- Clothing & personal items
- Small first aid kit
- Coolers (one per 2 fishermen)
Baggage Limits
Group members are restricted to 150 lbs. per person for a fishing trip and 175 lbs. per person for a hunting trip. These baggage limits include all groceries, fishing gear, personal items and refreshments. Overload charges may/will apply to items that do not fit in the aircraft.
Most overages are due to bottled water, beer and soda. To reduce your baggage weights, we will fly your refreshments to the camp in advance of your arrival. For this service we need a list a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the beginning of your trip.
Note – Those driving generally bring all needed items from home, however for those flying with a commercial air carrier or flying on private aircraft we have a large supply of most items such as freshly laundered sleeping bags, pillows, towels, coolers, life jackets, landing nets, minnow buckets, etc. There is no charge for the use of these items.
- Baggage Limits: Party members are restricted to 150 lbs. of baggage each (Including groceries & refreshments) for fishing and 175 lbs. each for moosse hunting.
- Cancellations: If unforeseen circumstances should arise and a cancellation is necessary, immediate notification is requested as we have a waiting list. Deposits are non-refundable.
- Check Flights: We stop at your camp at least once during a 5 to 7 day trip.
- Deposits: Reservations are not confirmed until receipt of deposit. Personal checks are acceptable for deposits only. Fishing trips – deposit of $500.00 per person. Hunting trip – deposit of $1000.00 per person. VISA or MasterCard will be accepted for telephone reservations. Deposits are non-refundable.
- Groceries & Refreshments: If you wish, we will purchase and package your groceries and refreshments prior to your arrival. We ask that grocery orders be made at least 2 weeks prior to your trip. We have a 20% handling charge for this service.
- Hunting: If you are hunting be sure to bring proof of past hunting experience in the form of a hunting licence from any State regardless of year.
- Ice: All camps have refrigerators and separate freezers. We also keep all camps well supplied with cube ice flown in from ice machines at the seaplane base.

- Live Bait: We have leeches by the pound and night crawlers by the flat (500) or half flat (250) available at the seaplane base. Get in touch well in advance of your arrival if will want bait so we can assure that we have sufficient on hand.
- Overnight Cabins: We have 5 fully modern guest cabins overlooking Mattice Lake or McKenzie Lake. Many groups stay in these cabins if they arrive the day or evening before flying into a camp.
- Park Permits: We issue park permits for those paddling in Wabakimi Wilderness Park.
- Payment: To be made prior to flight in; by money order, travelers checks, certified check, cash, VISA or MasterCard. Absolutely no personal checks accepted for final payment. Rates are subject to sales tax.
- Reservations: A request for a reservation should contain your preference of dates plus an alternative if possible, the number in your party and the length of stay. Reservations should be made as soon as possible to ensure dates and camps of your choice. Tentative reservations will be held for 14 days.
- Two-way Radios: All camps are equipped with 2 way radios for your safety and your convenience in the event you forgot something that we can deliver on a check flight.
- WiFi: The Ogoki Reservoir and Seaplane Base Guest Cabins all have WiFi
